Further CD cover ideas:
Here are some more CD cover ideas from my original hand drawn picture, which have been slightly tweaked in each of the four on the page. This is so I can get a picture of how it will look in different styles and with different fonts. This was simply done on power point however when I finalize my chosen design I plan to use Photoshop to get the professional desired effect.

further CD cover ideas:
Here is a mock up of the images I want to use for my CD/ Digipak. Some images I believe are not suited and look out of place/ tacky when text it either put on top or around them, therefore some do not work. However I hope from this I can then find a middle ground where I will find the right image/images to use for my digipak. I created all aspects of each of the images below by myself, the images were taken by myself and edited on adobe Photoshop, and the top image was originally drawn by hand with precise measurements. This was done via taking aspects from Television colour tests and mashing them up to make one I liked, I was originally going to paint it myself however this proved difficult as of the precise boxes and contrasting colours. So in the end I scanned it into the computer and used Microsoft power point, to make boxes and dragged them over the original picture pasted below as a guide. After many boxes and positioning it came together to what you see below, and by the end I hope it will look effective with either a picture of the band in the middle or their name.

Album cover ideas 2:
Here are some more album covers which have drastically changed from my original, as once feeling the mood of the video I feel that these would be more suitable. As they are colorful and will stand out more than an old run down building. And along with my inside and back cover pictures which are fun it suits the album as a whole.

Album cover ideas:
Here are a few mock ups of/ a view of the kind of album cover I wish to have by the end. I have chosen a gritty background as then I can put in colorful aspects to it so that it look appealing and fun, and so it stands out from the rest. I have also done this so that it is different from all the other so similar album covers.

Cover ideas:
Front cover idea:
This picture was taken with a SLR and looks professional as of the quality of the picture, and the definition is very good. The coloring and costume makes the photo really stand out and loom good. I think that I could use this for my actual CD cover as it does look really good and pose which my actor is making look funny and fits in with the style I want to achieve. It will also fit with my audience as this is the type of audience I want, fun and cheerful, having a good laugh.
The photo below even though it is blurred I think that it looks very cool and also looks professional in its own way. This type of photo could potentially be part of my digipak as personally I really like it and think its cool.
CD cover and back Cover ideas:
Photo ideas:
Here are some photo shoot ideas/ pictures which I took of the sort of feeling and setting I want for my CD, these really captures the mood of want I want my music video to be like, happy and jolly with lots of laughs. The photos have been taken on a SLR, some with slight editing of Adobe Photoshop to enhance the colours and saturation, this therefore brings out the sky and actors. I think that the images look cool and the clothing which my actors are wearing is perfect for what I want in the video, these are also potential filming locations as they look rough and as if they are places in London. Also the prop which my actor Josh has will be featured in the filming as it looks funny and fits in with the style I am looking for.
The costumes make my actors look very smart and as one, therefore they are a unit and can be identified by their audience. The costumes also fit very well with the genre as of the trilby hats and sun glasses, these will also be featured in the music video as they look good and make my actors fit the roles intended.

Font ideas:
Here are some ideas for different fonts I have chosen for my Digi-pak, some are more practical than others however most of them look very appealing and work well with the sort of album cover and advert I have in mind.

Name ideas:
While doing research into bands and band name ideas I have thought of some myself and asked audience members to say what they think of them, but first here are some band names of those I am trying to capture their image, and vibe:

Here are the logos of both Madness (on the right) and the Specials (on the left), these are both classic example of ska logos and they look brilliant. Their names are iconic and their sounds will go down in history. I love Madness's name as it says it all they are just quite simply mad. And the Specials because they are a brilliant special band who will never be forgotten. Their names really show that they didn't really care about the normal routine of it 'meaning' something, because that mumbo jumbo doesn't matter with great music, however it might with music that needs a captive audience and merchandise to survive (not naming names One Direction cough cough).

The Beatles are such an amazing band whose music changed the world forever they are lyric genius's. A clever bunch of lad's whose music captivated so many to start a band and start to jam wherever whenever.
The reason I like the Beatles as they are so different/ were, and that they were part of a band with a uniform, something that people could recognize as one, much like the Specials and Madness. Again what does their name actually mean...
The Cat Empire are a newer band that I like they are a band from Australia and play Jazzy tunes. I like their logo and name as it is quite random and sounds cool. The logo is striking and looks the part. However their band do not have a 'uniform' like the Beatles or Madness, yet they somehow fit together as of how they act on the stage (as they are all mates having a fun time).
The Sex Pistols are the ones who inspired so many bands creating their own image of 'Punk' which has created so many fashions and individuals. Their name was named after Vicious's relatives, taking a name from each. It stands for individualism and not really caring what people think or how they judge you, just be you and you will have a good time/
The Stranglers are another iconic band whose music is amazing, different and out right brilliant. They had a certain uniform about themselves, of smart clothing (in their videos), however when performing were like any other band, fun and boisterous. This is the sort of feeling I want from my music video that the band are all mates having a good time, and therefore I need my name to show this therefore I made up a few names myself and showed them to audience members to see which ones they like best and why:
"I like this name as it reminds me of space invaders, which is a classic fun came that I used to play a lot of with my mates. Reminds me of fun for hours on end".
"The name sort of suits a 'Ska' band as it sounds as if they are invading London with their music".
"Sounds cool and to me feels like it could be the name of a real band".
I then asked 5 people "if you heard of this band from a friend what would you think of".
"Games".
"London and the 70's".
"The music scene".
"Different".
"I want to hear their music".
"I am not so keen on this one as it sounds as it they are a Punk band, much like the Sex pistols, and from hearing about what your band is meant to be does not really represent them properly".
"Sounds pretty cool, as if they do not really care about what people think more that it doesn't matter as long as they are having a good time".
"It's different but sort of makes me think maybe they really are nothing special so what's the point of listening to them".
I then asked 5 people "if you heard of this band from a friend what would you think of".
"Punk".
"Depressing music".
"They don't care".
"Nothing Special".
"Cool name".

This is the sort of feeling I want from my music video that the band are all mates having a good time, and therefore I need my name to show this therefore I made up a few names myself and showed them to audience members to see which ones they like best and why:
1. The North London Invaders.
"I like this name as it reminds me of space invaders, which is a classic fun came that I used to play a lot of with my mates. Reminds me of fun for hours on end".
"The name sort of suits a 'Ska' band as it sounds as if they are invading London with their music".

"Sounds pretty cool, as if they do not really care about what people think more that it doesn't matter as long as they are having a good time".
"It's different but sort of makes me think maybe they really are nothing special so what's the point of listening to them".

"They don't care".
"Nothing Special".
"Cool name".
3. MAD HOUSE.
"Sounds like it's part of a fun fair ride or something like that, fun and silly".
"Reminds me of clowns, which are scary, don't like clowns. Might not be the best name for people like me".
"Cool name makes me think that they are a band producing music on drugs, in a mad world of notes and keys".
I then asked 5 people "if you heard of this band from a friend what would you think of".
"Circus act".
"Chaos and anarchy".
"Fun and crazy".
"Victorian horror movie".
"Silly".
These names which I thought of all quite random yet fun and different, I think that my first one may be the best choice as it seemed to have got the best feedback from my audience, and for some reason I think it just fits in with being a Ska band. The name represents that they are invading London's street from the North with music and taking over.
It is a fun name and i'm sure is the right choice. The reason for not choosing 'Nothing Special' as it seems to feel more like a punk or rock band name, as it makes them seem that they do not care at all, not even about the music or about having a good time. My audience members said the same that it may be linked with 'depressing music' which is not how I want my band to be represented. And with 'Mad House' it sounds to much like a circus act and almost as if it is a Death metal band, as the circus can be linked to these bands as of such famous bands as 'SlipKnot', who are a death metal band. Therefore I think that this name would give the band the wrong image to the audience.
The reason for choosing The North London Invaders, to be my final band names is because I think that it represents my band as being fun and lively, I want them to be like the band 'Madness' fun and crazy not really caring as long as the music is good.

Magazine advert ideas:
Here is a image which I took and edited of two guitars propped up against a piano, I would of like there to be some brass instruments to hand for me to use but there wasn't so guitars had to do. The reason for the black and white background contrasting between the colored in guitars, has a contrast between the older song which I have chosen and the new set locations.

Clothing research:
While researching online I found some ideal clothing for the music video, which not only fits the genre and the audience. Some of the clothing is quite expensive and I may not be able to afford it for the final film, however the smaller props are a lot more affordable, therefore will make sure that the video look the part and professional.

Here are some braces which I found on ebay that are a good price, and the colours/ styles are near to perfect of what I want. These will work well as they are cheap enough to buy 4 pairs, although they might not last long however they only need to last long enough for the music video so should work.
These braces were also on ebay however are around 5x the price, meaning they would last a lot longer as they are better quality, however the price means it would be around 35 pounds for 4, which is a lot of money. The colour/ style is good but there is only one style so would be a bit boring, however the whole band would match.
These trilby hats are cheap and look the part to fit in with the genre, they would look great in my music video and are the perfect colour. However to get 4 would be 20 pounds which is quite a bit of money, therefore I may need to find others.
I found a bowler hat on ebay which is quite expensive however look really cool, and could be a potential hat for my video. However one of my actors already owns a bowler hat which would work just as well therefore to save money so I can spend it on something else, I will use my actors one.
Here is a cool top hat which I found on ebay which would work really well in my video, as it look vintage and retro. It is quite cheap but I already own a bowler hat but it look quite tacky so this one may be better in the end. Although with further thought I doubt when on camera that the audience will not notice as it is a black hat with no real defining features.
Here is a toy saxophone which actually works, it look cool being a chromed plastic and the coloured notes look cool. It would work well in the music video and look funny being so small against my big actor. However when look at the price it is clear that I may as well not get it, as you will not be able to hear the notes.
Here is an inflatable bright orange saxophone which would be ideal for my music video as of its comical size and colour. It is cheap and cheerful therefore its not really a waste if it look the part and will add to the video.
This suit jacket is ideal for what I am looking for however it is quite pricey therefore I will not be able to afford it but however will hopefully be able to find something similar in charity shops around my area. This will therefore add to the video as it will fit in with the genre.
These trousers I also found of ebay, they are ideal for my video as they fit with the genre and have a comical feel about them. However again are a bit expensive therefore it would only work if one my actors wanted to buy them for themselves to use afterwards.
Here is another ideal blazer for the music video found of ebay again but is expensive and I could not buy it myself. However I have one similar myself which I will be using in the video therefore it will make the video look better and fit better with the genre.
This suit it a lovely example to fit in with the 'Ska' genre however is too expensive for my music video, however my actors have similar looking suits therefore they can use their own to make the video more professional and look part of the right genre.
This final suit jacket is again the perfect look for the genre of my band and music video. Many of my actors have similar suit jackets therefore I can use them, this was just to get a further idea of what I would like in my video.

Locations:
Here is a mood board of my chosen locations, hopefully he ones I actually are able to use are very similar as therefore will give the video the overall effect which I have visioned. Many aspects of the video will be in pretty much the same location therefore hopefully there will not be to much need for transport allowing all my actors to easily get to the filming location, whereas if I needed there to be many different areas would make it more difficult for my actors as would need a lift every time. This also allows me to shoot many of the scenes in the same day preventing factors from occurring e.g. Actors not being able to get there, weather conditions (if one day is sunny and next is raining it will not fit together), and also locations not looking the same, cars, movement of props or animals.
I have also explored the local area around my school of places which could have potential to be able to film in, for example here are some images and descriptions of potential shot locations:
This piano can be found in one of the music rooms around my school, and I thought as it has a vintage charm about it that it may prove to be a viable asset in my music video. The plain white wall gives a nice clean cut background which will look professional If I were to film a scene or multiple scenes here. Also the room has good lighting so that there is no need for any studio lights or shades.
This old railway bridge has an eary and again vintage feel to it and would be ideal for shooting on top off and below, however I think that it may be too gothic for my video yet it still a potential. It has good lighting during the day but can only really be filmed from one side so that the light it behind and does not affect the shot too much. The natural lighting gives it a fresh and clean feel.
This underpass in the bridge has brilliant lighting I can imagine the actors fooling around to the music, and balloons being thrown about the place as to make it look old yet fun. This would be an ideal filming location however it is a far walk from the school so with all the props and equipment a lift would be required, and also a road goes straight throw it so to get a clear shot it would have to be empty, which could take a while.
This is an old railway station from the late Victorian eara, it looks vintage and cool, therefore could be a potential filming location, however I more like the style of it than the actual location, as it is private property. This location has good lighting and space to shoot but again it is a distance from the school so a lift would again be required.
This house is a nice brick house with the ideal characteristics I want in my shots. It has a Vintage feel to it and great lighting, however it is on a hill and the steps up to the house make it hard to shoot as the actors would have to run up and down them, which could look unprofessional. Again I more like the look of it than the actual location, this allows me to get a greater picture of how my video will look.
Here is a location within school of a music room, which I have set up myself to look like a set, therefore making it look more professional and drawing the viewers eyes away from the background. This location is ideal for my music video as it has space, its very close and the lighting it very good and there is no need for any external lights. Also being natural lighting will make the shots look professional.
This location is just out of the school grounds less than 50ft away and it another ideal location to film, as of the low brick wall and 60's feel to it. It is a classic example of a working class family home and that's exactly the sort of house I want in my video. The lighting is ideal coming from the right of the camera so that when my actors run past they will have a great big cartoon shadow in front of them, adding to the comical feel I am trying to achieve.
