Magazine advert ideas:

Here is a image which I took and edited of two guitars propped up against a piano, I would of like there to be some brass instruments to hand for me to use but there wasn't so guitars had to do. The reason for the black and white background contrasting between the colored in guitars, has a contrast between the older song which I have chosen and the new set locations.

Clothing research:

While researching online I found some ideal clothing for the music video, which not only fits the genre and the audience. Some of the clothing is quite expensive and I may not be able to afford it for the final film, however the smaller props are a lot more affordable, therefore will make sure that the video look the part and professional.

Here are some braces which I found on ebay that are a good price, and the colours/ styles are near to perfect of what I want. These will work well as they are cheap enough to buy 4 pairs, although they might not last long however they only need to last long enough for the music video so should work.

These braces were also on ebay however are around 5x the price, meaning they would last a lot longer as they are better quality, however the price means it would be around 35 pounds for 4, which is a lot of money. The colour/ style is good but there is only one style so would be a bit boring, however the whole band would match.
These trilby hats are cheap and look the part to fit in with the genre, they would look great in my music video and are the perfect colour. However to get 4 would be 20 pounds which is quite a bit of money, therefore I may need to find others.
I found a bowler hat on ebay which is quite expensive however look really cool, and could be a potential hat for my video. However one of my actors already owns a bowler hat which would work just as well therefore to save money so I can spend it on something else, I will use my actors one.
Here is a cool top hat which I found on ebay which would work really well in my video, as it look vintage and retro. It is quite cheap but I already own a bowler hat but it look quite tacky so this one may be better in the end. Although with further thought I doubt when on camera that the audience will not notice as it is a black hat with no real defining features.
Here is a toy saxophone which actually works, it look cool being a chromed plastic and the coloured notes look cool. It would work well in the music video and look funny being so small against my big actor. However when look at the price it is clear that I may as well not get it, as you will not be able to hear the notes.
Here is an inflatable bright orange saxophone which would be ideal for my music video as of its comical size and colour. It is cheap and cheerful therefore its not really a waste if it look the part and will add to the video.
This suit jacket is ideal for what I am looking for however it is quite pricey therefore I will not be able to afford it but however will hopefully be able to find something similar in charity shops around my area. This will therefore add to the video as it will fit in with the genre.
These trousers I also found of ebay, they are ideal for my video as they fit with the genre and have a comical feel about them. However again are a bit expensive therefore it would only work if one my actors wanted to buy them for themselves to use afterwards.
Here is another ideal blazer for the music video found of ebay again but is expensive and I could not buy it myself. However I have one similar myself which I will be using in the video therefore it will make the video look better and fit better with the genre.
This suit it a lovely example to fit in with the 'Ska' genre however is too expensive for my music video, however my actors have similar looking suits therefore they can use their own to make the video more professional and look part of the right genre.
This final suit jacket is again the perfect look for the genre of my band and music video. Many of my actors have similar suit jackets therefore I can use them, this was just to get a further idea of what I would like in my video.

Locations:

Here is a mood board of my chosen locations, hopefully he ones I actually are able to use are very similar as therefore will give the video the overall effect which I have visioned. Many aspects of the video will be in pretty much the same location therefore hopefully there will not be to much need for transport allowing all my actors to easily get to the filming location, whereas if I needed there to be many different areas would make it more difficult for my actors as would need a lift every time. This also allows me to shoot many of the scenes in the same day preventing factors from occurring e.g. Actors not being able to get there, weather conditions (if one day is sunny and next is raining it will not fit together), and also locations not looking the same, cars, movement of props or animals.

I have also explored the local area around my school of places which could have potential to be able to film in, for example here are some images and descriptions of potential shot locations:

This piano can be found in one of the music rooms around my school, and I thought as it has a vintage charm about it that it may prove to be a viable asset in my music video. The plain white wall gives a nice clean cut background which will look professional If I were to film a scene or multiple scenes here. Also the room has good lighting so that there is no need for any studio lights or shades.
This old railway bridge has an eary and again vintage feel to it and would be ideal for shooting on top off and below, however I think that it may be too gothic for my video yet it still a potential. It has good lighting during the day but can only really be filmed from one side so that the light it behind and does not affect the shot too much. The natural lighting gives it a fresh and clean feel.
This underpass in the bridge has brilliant lighting I can imagine the actors fooling around to the music, and balloons being thrown about the place as to make it look old yet fun. This would be an ideal filming location however it is a far walk from the school so with all the props and equipment a lift would be required, and also a road goes straight throw it so to get a clear shot it would have to be empty, which could take a while.
This is an old railway station from the late Victorian eara, it looks vintage and cool, therefore could be a potential filming location, however I more like the style of it than the actual location, as it is private property. This location has good lighting and space to shoot but again it is a distance from the school so a lift would again be required.
This house is a nice brick house with the ideal characteristics I want in my shots. It has a Vintage feel to it and great lighting, however it is on a hill and the steps up to the house make it hard to shoot as the actors would have to run up and down them, which could look unprofessional. Again I more like the look of it than the actual location, this allows me to get a greater picture of how my video will look.
Here is a location within school of a music room, which I have set up myself to look like a set, therefore making it look more professional and drawing the viewers eyes away from the background. This location is ideal for my music video as it has space, its very close and the lighting it very good and there is no need for any external lights. Also being natural lighting will make the shots look professional.

This location is just out of the school grounds less than 50ft away and it another ideal location to film, as of the low brick wall and 60's feel to it. It is a classic example of a working class family home and that's exactly the sort of house I want in my video. The lighting is ideal coming from the right of the camera so that when my actors run past they will have a great big cartoon shadow in front of them, adding to the comical feel I am trying to achieve.
h
Here is an image of Hogans music shop in Newbury it is an ideal filming location as of again the 60-70's feel of it and the space and lighting. However being outside of walking distance a lift would be required which may be difficult to source, also it is a privately owned shop so permission would be needed to film inside and outside of it therefore if this is not granted then this location cannot be used.

Props:

Here is a mood board of some of the props which I will hope to use in my music video. The balloons and walking sticks will be easy to get hold of however the drum kit as of its size will be difficult to get to the filming location, and the brass instruments as of their value.

Inspirational bands:

The costume props which I have now purchased can be seen below, I can all other things that are needed from myself and my actors which makes it a lot easier to get set up. Below are some of the bands which I have taken inspiration from especially Madness and the Specials, this is as their outfits are cool and I personally would wear that going out and also their music is iconic and I love it. Many of the costumes for my actors will be being styled of these bands, from the trilby hats to the canes, to make the video stand out and look the part.

actors costumes:

Here is a mood board of the type of costumes I would like my actors to be wearing during filming so that they fit in with the music. Although some of the clothing may seems bland and not very upbeat, when put into a jazzy and unusual song I hope it will prove to be a big contrast, especially from the colorful balloons.

music video script:

Here is my music video script of how I hope my overall music video to be played out ear to ear. I am counting on the fact many parts will probably change during filming so that it is more interesting for the viewer to watch, as at the moment I believe that with the small variety of shots I have it will be quite a slow and boring video for some viewers. However hopefully there is so much going on and comical moments that it will make it a lot better once it is completed.

Story board with song:

Here is my storyboard in a slide form with the music, to get a feel of how it may come out in the end.

Story Board:

Here is my story board with timings and annotation to link on from my music treatment, as a more detailed and explanatory plan.

Although I believe then when filming begins timings will defiantly change, as when you are only drawing it down while listening to the song you cannot get a sense of what I really want it to be like. This means the scenes may got longer and shorter throughout filming.

Many of the scenes are quite long as there will be lots of different angles so that one scene can last a lot longer without getting boring or too similar.

Close up will be used a lot so that the audience can see the actors cheeky smiles and laughter as they dance to the song. Some parts of the filming will of course be improvised so the actors can be themselves, which is what music is.

Most of the filming will be done inside so that weather should not be too much of a problem in the long run, however the stuff outdoors will nearly all have to be done on the same day, so that I get the same weather conditions and lighting. As otherwise if one second its bright and sunny and then the second its dark and raining it will look very unprofessional and cheap.

Audience Clothing:

The clothing which is displayed above is the sort of clothing which I would expect my audience members to wear, along with the brands below. By having an idea of this I can then build an image of what of want my characters to look like exactly and what I want them to specifically wear.

Whole band mood board:

Here is a mood board for my entire band in which you can see the type of clothing they like, the bands and people they find inspirational and the type of people they are. I have chosen this sort of feeling for my band as of the song choice and because of 'their' background's in music. Many of the people shown below can be seen to influence the style of the music video and the digipak once completed. Like Sugg's (leader singer of Madness) who is a smart well dressed geezer however has a fun and jolly charm about him, as he is boisterous and a great dance...

Ian Dury is an amazing Song writer and performance 'a true lyricist genius' of his time, I have chosen him to influence the band as of his fun side and wit about him. However the same cannot be said for Frank Sinatra as I have chosen him to be an influence as he pure class, a man of respect and history.

The clothing which I have shown is more of a stereotypical get up of what I would like my actors to be wearing, however it how they represent themselves, through outlandish and different clothing from the usual dribble.

Actors:

Here are the actors which I have specifically picked for my music video and why:
